NAC DFT Proves Unmatched Accuracy & Repeatability

July 17, 2008 – In a controlled format, 3 production NAC Dynamic Friction Tester machines were demonstrated on the main runway at Hernando County Airport (KBKV). Each machine was calibrated and filled with water (132 gallons) prior to the demonstration. Each run was conducted in the same location, 10 foot on each side of the center line, spaced by 10-minute intervals to permit adequate surface drying time. Each DFT completed 6 passes over the un-grooved concrete surface. Analysis of the results proves that the NAC DFT will produce repeatable data within 3%. Based on the NASA Wallops 2007 report, other competitor devices reflect a cumulative error margin of 25%.

The results are graphed below, clearly demonstrating the accuracy & repeatability of the DFT.
