Neubert Aero Corp.’s Jet Racing Team will take part in the 47th Annual National Championship Air Races in Reno, Nevada, on September 15-19 in the Jet Class. NAC founder and president Tim Neubert will also serve as a race announcer for the Jet Class races.

“The Formula One race in 2009 was the highlight of our year. Even though it was only our second year of competition, we won Gold. The move to Jet Class is a natural progression because jet safety is at the center of NAC's mission -- improving airport safety,” said Neubert.

The Reno Air Racing Association has lifted its invitation-only participation rules for the Jet Class, bringing new excitement to the category. Neubert Aero Corp (NAC), a leading global provider of quality airport safety products and friction pavement systems, has teamed with last year’s Formula-One champion, Thom Richard, to go for Gold again by piloting Race Jet #3.

When not on the race course, Race Jet #3 is a friction test platform owned by the International Friction Pavement Association (IFPA). It is used to evaluate runway friction values at jet speeds. During the week leading to the National Air Races, NAC will be testing a new product device, Aircraft Friction Measurement Equipment “AFME” currently under development by NAC Dynamics, LLC, a manufacture of ground friction measurement devices. AFME is compact, self-contained, 3-axis recording instrument that measures real-time dynamic performance data using a fact-based friction methodology. It identifies competitive advantages as well as those aspects that require improvement. Data collection will be immediately downloaded after each flight for analysis by IFPA.

Jet Class racing is the fastest motor sport on earth, with speeds exceeding 500 mph. The Polish built TS-11 ’72 Iskra (Polish for 'spark') was selected because of its stability and dependability using a single jet configuration similar to the modern, light, executive jets.

Known as the world’s fastest motor sport, air racing has been popular since the 1940s. Drawing thousands of fans from across the globe, the Championship Air Races in Reno are the longest running air competitions in the United States.
